On Thursday, January 21, the Miller Center launched its 2016 Historical Presidency series, which examines the transition from the campaign trail to the Oval Office and executive leadership during a president’s crucial first year. Alan Taylor, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Professor at the University of Virginia, spoke about Thomas Jefferson’s Electoral Revolution of 1800. In this clip, he discusses Jefferson’s first year in office and his success in shaping the U.S. presidency and its relations to the American people.
